Fossar de les Moreres

This is still one of my favorite pictures from Barcelona.  That was a long day, but seeing things like this, the monument to those who died in the Siege of Barcelona in 1713-14, on the way made the pain in my legs that night more than worthwhile.
Changed my desktop for the third time in nearly 6 months.  I’m not a serial desktop changer because once I have one I like, I like to keep it for as long as possible, just to stare at it when my computer logs on and off.  Especially if it’s a picture I took, which it’s been for the past two years.  I actually had the same desktop on my computer for about two years straight, give or take a few times I felt like changing it, then went back to the original.  Then I went back to Spain this summer, took more pictures, and switched things up a bit.
So I’ve said good-bye to the Masia Freixa in Terrassa for the time being (though I’ll most likely go back to it, I love that picture far too much) and have gone with a view of Barcelona from Parc Güell, which, you may also recognize is the picture on my Tumblr page.  ^^
[Both of these pictures, my current desktop and the one of the Masia Freixa, were taken by me.]
Terminal 1, Aeroport del Prat
Plaça del Progrés, Terrassa.  ^^
The people there were planning the Festes Majors I think for the district, and yeah, when I was taking out my regular camera they were giving me the funniest looks.  xD  Oh well.
Took this at the FCBotiga Megastore with my cellphone.  ^^
The first picture I took in Barcelona this May [Plaça de Sants].
Never forget Barcelona 2010.
Can’t believe it’s already been nearly five months since I left, nearly four since I got back.  How depressing.
Collection of tickets from my Spain trip.  The two tickets on the bottom are from Camp Nou: the top one is from  is from 2 years ago, from the Valencia match, and the bottom one is from the tour/museum (which sucked, but it was motsly because of the people who were there ruining it for me and the fact that half the museum was closed and they still charged full price x________x).  The ticket on top of that one is from the Palau de la Música Catalana (LOOOOOOOOOOVE).  The sea green ones are from the Bilbao trasnportation lines, including metro, city/regional bus, and Bizkaibus.  There’s probably 30€ worth of money that was on those things.  xD  The orange ones are from the FGC, from the two times I went to Terrassa (you can’t buy round-trip tickets for whatever reason), and the green-and-white ones are from the TMB, the Barcelona transportation line.
For my 11,501st post, I give you my “*Ella is a stalker*” moment of the day.
So, okay, everyone who’s been following me since the summer knows that I went to Barcelona this summer for six days (and then Bilbao for three weeks), and while I was there I took two trips out to Terrassa, and fell in love.  Not with an actual person (unfortunately), but with the city.  And in my first trip to the city, I wandered around the central part of the city, mostly because I could, though I was looking for the Masia Freixa.
I probably wandered around the Ca n’Aurell district for two hours, just trying to find the Parc de Sant Jordi and the Masia Freixa, and I made the Carrer de Galileu my home base (that one and the Carrer d’Arquímedes, I wandered a lot), as it was fairly central in the district as well as running (fairly) parallel to the Rambla d’Ègara.  That’s how I found the Plaça del Progrés (in the picture), wandering down that street constantly.  I swear, I became very familiar with that street.
And then I find out today that the Carrer de Galileu is the street that Xavi grew up on.
This is why I should not have been allowed in Terrassa in the first place, guys.  Of course I did end up falling in love with it, legitimately, so some good did come of it, but still.  I am apparently a horrendous stalker and need to stop before I ruin my life.
I was editing some of my Barcelona pictures today for no real reason other than the possibility of putting them on my Tumblr layout, and I chose a bunch to make black and white.  I got to this one, and while I absolutely love it in color (it’s actually my favorite picture from Barcelona 2010, out of the 1,000+ I have), as soon as I put it in black and white, everything changed.
I am incredibly proud of this picture, and I can honestly say, nothing is cropped, the only thing that’s really changed from the original is some coloring, along with the black and white, and stronger contrast.  I just really adore this picture, and while I don’t really fancy myself a photographer, I am really proud of this one.
I. Love. Terrassa.
And I will never stop posting pictures of it.
I remember telling one of my Catalan exchange partners (who’s from Sabadell) that I went to Terrassa, and he was like “Bah, Terrassa has nothing.”  I was like “WELL I LIKED IT.  I THOUGHT IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.”  And he was like “Yeah…I’m from Sabadell…”  xDD  Sabadell is Terrassa’s “rival city”; they’re both capitals of the Vallès Occidental and even though Terrassa’s bigger (it’s the 3rd-largest city in Catalunya, I believe), Sabadell is the “historical” capital.  So him saying Terrassa was boring really didn’t come as much of a surprise to me.
Quite possibly my favorite building in all of Barcelona.
[I’m going through all my pictures from this summer and uploading them to Picasa.  Geotagging them, tagging them, making sure they’re good quality…]
^^
Sagrada Família, La Dreta de l’Eixample.
I really love this picture.
Sagrada Família.
Façana del Naixement, Sagrada Família
[Seriously, the disparity in sizes is rather depressing.  But at least they’re still pretty pictures!  :)]
