Turned my Spanish phone on last night so I could use the alarm clock this morning, and ended up with roaming coverage from a company here in Canada.

I can’t send messages or be on the internet or anything like that because of the roaming, but I have coverage.  This is important because I was going to look into getting my phone unlocked, but hopefully I don’t need to do that now.  It may be because all of Canada’s phone companies and phones work on the SIM card (which only one company in the States uses, which is why it’s very hard to get connection outside the States with an American phone, and vice-versa) or something like that.  The company isn’t the greatest, but if I at least have some kind of coverage, I can at least use my Spanish phone here.

I just thought that was really cool.  I didn’t have service with a major company in Spain, so I wasn’t expecting any compatibility, but it’s really cool to find out that there is.  :D
