Q&A

How did you learn Catalan and Spanish? Self-taught? ‒ Anonyme

In Catalan yes, I am self-taught.

Spanish I learned because my family moved to Spain when I was 12.  I studied the language a little bit, though most of what I learned was from the street and picking up what people were saying around me.

Serving people is the only way people’s perceptions of the church are ever going to change. This is why it is so toxic for the Gospel when Christians picket and boycott and complain about how bad the world is…why blame dark for being dark? It is far more helpful to ask why the light isn’t as bright as it could be.
Q&A

have you been to little portugal in toronto yet? x ‒ Anonyme

We actually kind of live in Little Portugal on Bloor.  :)  We’re kind of in the outskirts, but we’re only a few minutes’ walk from College and Dundas, so I’ve been down there a couple times when I walk downtown.  It’s really cool, and really interesting to hear European Portuguese on the street.  :)

Q&A

How do you like Toronto? ‒ Anonyme

I like it a lot.  I love all the people, all the languages, all the cultures.  I just don’t like the cold, even though I’ve spent the last 5 years living in one of the coldest parts of the US (besides Alaska), and Toronto’s supposed to be the warmest city in Canada.  Whatever, I still don’t like cold weather.  Haha.

Seriously though, the people are great even though I haven’t met a whole lot of “native” Canadians; most of the people I come into contact with are refugees or recent immigrants.  It’s really great though, I love it.  :)

He looks like a bumblebee.
